Ongoing / Personal Project
I have a passion for craftsmanship and simple objects that allow materials and manufacturing processes to shine. Below is a collection of objects that have resulted from free exploration of this passion.
I find that designing simple, non technical items without the constraints and limitations that usually comes with client work is a great way to explore my own creative expression. It’s also a way to refine and learn new skills.
Most objects usually originate from a piece of inspiration that could come from anywhere. A material, a manufacturing method or traditional crafts for example. That piece of inspiration lingers around and eventually an idea for an application of it may form. I usually let that happen before I put pen to paper and start giving shape to the idea. Nowadays I often jump straight into 3D which allows me to quickly iterate on the design.
